About 8 months now for me. I just have some lag bolt/screws with hooks on them secured into some studs. It's comfortable, and actually helps with my breathing at night according to my CPAP numbers.

Not me. We have a sleep number bed and I add 4" of memory foam on top. Feel like I'm sleeping in a cloud. A hammock is the next best thing, but I love my bed.

If I was left to my own devices, I would sleep outside in a hammock every night. That said, I value my marriage more than my desire to "hang." So I will be staying in the bed for a while longer. We do have a very comfortable mattress, though. So I don't feel like I'm losing out too much.
Tried to convince my wife we should both sleep in hammocks and have a "common area" between us. She did not bite. Even showed her the beautiful array of colors. Still no bite. Wont repeat what she said. 😁
Started full time last month- feel so much more rested in the morning! I have a fairly small bedroom, so it's nice having some room in there when I hook both ends to the same side. I pretty much had to go corner to corner, so it wouldn't have been near as convenient without 'biners to detach quickly to take to one side.
Since may 2014 or 2015, until about 3/17 and boy does this $7000 tempurpedic remote adjustable bed suck! Just converted the boys' room to hammocks yesterday

I have a "permanent" tarp that needs to be replaced about every year due to UV damage. I start with a cheap woven plastic type tarp as the fabric and sew a winter tarp with doors. What I really like about it is how "at home" I feel when backpacking.
Every night for several years indoors in either a big Brazilian or a cotton t'cloth gathered-end, also a couple ripstop GE's for outdoors & traveling. I have an old spine injury with several fusions, and a big, well-hung hammock is better for me than any bed I've tried. Currently hanging from wall studs, but I want to make some walk-under pipe stands. I have a guest bed and also a few guest hammocks. For guests who try a hammock and end up converts, I help them make their own simple GE to take home. Give a friend a hammock AND teach 'em how (no fish harmed).
I hang most nights, but occasionally accede to the demands of Cuddlemonster, and sleep in the recliner.
