    peapod 3 all alone

Ok, I'm contemplating top quilts and bottom quilts and hiking weights and I had a question for you guys.

First off, I did try a search (of course) but I did not come up with much. I blame all you people on here because you wont stop talking about hammocks. Man, there are a million threads about just about every aspect of hammock camping on this amazing site. That is nice and all but it can sure make finding that one little bit of information, that you KNOW has been talked about many times, almost like finding a needle in a haystack. anyway.....I digress!

So my question is how does the peapod 3 perform by itself (sans a top quilt)? Now, I know all the variables involved with a question like this one. I guess I was just wondering if anyone has tried it without a topquilt and how it compared to another setup you might have tried. Obviously if I were using it alone I would be using quite a few articles of clothing to supplement my sleep system (coats, hats, etc.).

    What do you guys think?

Did you read BillyBob58's trip report here? As I recall, a couple of the people on that trip used PeaPods without a top quilt (clothing supplemented) into the 20's F.

If there is anything at all you want to know about a PeaPod, just e-mail Ed. He's entirely too happy to answer any questions you may have regarding Speer products. You can get his e-mail link at the Speer Hammocks website.

I used mine on a recent section hike from Amicalola SP to Woody Gap. I took along a 40 degree mummy bag for a top cover. It never came out of it's stuff sack. I was toasty warm every night. BTW, mine is for sale...check the 4 sale board. I am going a different route for my thru hike next year.

    Tags are my new friend

I did not know about tags but rest assured they are going to be me new friends!

This site is so awesome. I belong to a few other forums but this is by far one of the best! The layout is just what it needs to be.
