Setting up WB Edge tarp with treking poles

I am interested in getting into hammock camping but would also like the flexibility of being able to use some of the gear for tarp camping. I know it's not ideal but as I break into hammock camping it would make the transition a bit smoother. To that end I am interested in whether or not it is possible to set up the Edge tarp from warbonnet (with and without doors) using treking poles rather than trees. After looking into it the Mamajamba seems too big for this. I've searched high and low but can't seem to find an answer so I figured I'd see if anyone has any experience with this. Even though it may not be preferable to go to the ground I would like the option.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I've seen pics of someone who set up a cat cut tarp similar to the edge for ground dwelling. It might not be the best tarp, but you can make it work.

Check out the instructions for the Black Cat Tarp

At the end of the instructions there are a bunch of pictures of hex tarps set up in a variety of ways, including as a ground tarp using hiking poles.

    Maybe that'll help.
