However I also had a great time at the NEHHA trip even though I couldn't stay Saturday. Raiff and R3l@x always a good time hanging with you guys.
And so the planning begins! And as always, it was good hanging with you too. Thanks for coming to the hang, and thanks for the use of the quill pulling pliers.

Can't believe I missed this. However, I wasn't ready for it anyway. Which site were you guys at? I've never been to Mt. Greylock but it's on my list for this winter. Looks like a nice place for some relatively easy winter hanging.

We were at the campground in Sperry Campground, the Birch site I beleive. Let me know when are planning on a hike on Mt. Greylock, I live at the base of the mountain. There are a few shelters on the mountain that you can stay at free of charge.

    Great site!

I'm so jealous! Was at that very site (Birch Group) in mid Sept tarp/tent camping. Had thought about hammock camping at that time but didn't know what was available at the site for hanging, so bought a Transform Tarp from Nemo. Of course after spending 2 nights on the slightly unlevel, bumpy ground, I realized why I hadn't gone camping in 20 yrs. I hate sleeping on the ground! So now am a new owner of a WBRR and getting my gear accumulated for a real hang. Hopefully can use the same tarp over my RR, although it is somewhat heavy. Maybe in the spring? (Insert deep sigh.)
Have to work on getting the pack weight down considerably.

Lack of winter gear mostly. But need to train quite a bit first. After 20 yr or so of NOT backpacking or camping, I do both with 35+ lbs pack and thought I'd need joint replacement after.
But if I keep reading about how much fun you people have.....I may have to.
