    Gear making help & contest

So, I know alot of people here have and use their own high powered gear making power tool. Some people, like me, need help with all the cool attachments you can use. I found this link that has some information I think would benifit all of us.

Also, as a treat, I found a contest with a chance to win some new gear making items.

Good link there. I'd like to find some patterns somewhere for making stuff like shell jacket and pants.

I found a jacket pattern at walmart. I made a wind breaker with it. Some times you can use a pattern to get the basic shape, then mod it to your liking.

I just looked where it was but it's not there. My wife and kids 'cleaned' the room and it might of found it's way to the trash.

I did find this link that might help you.

There are some nice kits on thru-hiker. They are pricey, but worth it IMO. The momentum 90 fabric is really great.

Yep, greenpepper has some nice patterns and reasonably priced. Thanks.

Yep, have ordered from AYCE a few times. Am on the fence about the kits though. Almost pulled the trigger once or twice....

I have used green pepper patterns in the past. They are very basic, no fancy bells and whistles, but they are excellent patterns. They fall mainly in the easy to moderate category and the directions are excellent.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I just completed a pair of wind pants that i made from a Walmart Simple pajama bottom pattern. Very easy and with Walmart 1.1 it cost less than $5. I still have to put Silicone on them. They should weigh less than 3 ounces.

Just in case you don't know where to look in Wally World there in the craft department inside those big Grey Metal Cabinets. Just trying to make it easy for you if you go looking.
