    question abotu adjustable ridgeline

i have an 11ft hammock, and i'm wondering if i can just by a 72" whoopie sling, and use it as an adjustable ridgeline? i know people use whoopies and ridgelines, but i'm just not quite sure how they do it, let alone if it's a whoopie or a slightly modified one to make it fit a hammock.

I doubt it would be long enough. Even at it's longest, it's only 6'. The only possible adjustment would be shorter.

You'll need around a 9 foot ridgeline. IIRC Arrowhead Equipment sell adjustable ridgelines. They are made the same as whoopie sling but the distance from the fixed loop to the adjustable bury is much longer.

Oh right. I didn't even think about it being to short. I guess I'll have to buy one or make one.

My ridgeline length is 9-1/2' for my 11' hammocks. Just be sure you have enough adjustability to cover 80% - 90% of your hammock length.

It's 7-10 feet long on adjustment. Should fit any hammock, 8.5-11 feet (if 83 percent is optimum for you). You'll have it soon. These ship quickly.
