Well, Porcupine stew isn't half bad, especially with potatoes, onions, greens and some hot sauce. Let 'em come by .... we can have a different class.

With the Geminid meteor shower beginning, tonight is a great night to test out cold lounging gear.
I'm starting out light, I have on thermals, heavy socks, my fleece outer pants a wool sweater and hat. As I get colder I will add layers until I'm either sweating just sitting here or I feel like the stay puff marshmallow man.

It's a warm 32 now and supposed to drop to around 27.

That is what I've been seeing on my way home every morning for the past week. Every night I see green meteors, I didn't know it was leading up to that.

Lol. I'm fine and well. My first layer held up for the better part of an hour. Just sitting there I started to get chilly. On went the down vest, wool mittens and a toss of a blanket over my legs kept the cold at bay. I was out for three hours, nodded off a time or two and ran out of coffee. I still have a few more layers and chemical hand warmers I could have used if needed. All and all I think I will be warm for the upcoming hang.

    Bad News

Hey guys, sorry to have to back out of this but I've got 2 Boy Scout Klondike events that I have to attend during January. And since I value my marriage, camping 3x in January probably isn't gonna happen. I was really looking forward to the opportunity to meeting you all in person, but it's not in the cards this January. I'll look forward to the spring hang, if there is one!

    Have a great time!
