    Canvas Sock

I'm very interested in making a sock for winter use. Looking at some of the canvas socks first thu me for a loop but now it's starting to make sence. Would the painters canvas drop cloths I see at HomeD work for this?

I think the weave is a little loose on those drop cloths, but if you wash in hot water and dry on high the shrinkage might tighten up the weave enough? Maybe open up the package a bit and see how easy it is to blow thru a single layer of it.
    Good luck,

I got a canvas drop cloth from Wally World that has a very tight weave - I washed it any way (cooties) in hot water and dried it normally. Made a nice sock out of it using the Ted Bug Net pattern and all I'm waiting for now is some 0* weather. Major condensation when used in the 30's - thats as low as it's got here so far.
