WOW!! I'm doing a ton of reading as I want to make a new hammock, this would be awesome!!!! I look forward to the plans. I just bought wood last night for 2 hammock recliner stands. This stuff could become a tad bit addicting! Thanks for all the ideas and instructions you share, it really helps out noobs like me!

Just over two years of frequent use and I'm proud to say the Chairs/stands have never let me down (literally)! At the moment, they're in the Hot-Tent on my deck for a little Pre-season Warm-up. (let it snow, let it snow, let it snow)

I've reattached the original pdf for the stand, but please note, the foot bolt pattern (page3 - 3.3.2..2.) is incorrect, here's what the spacing should be, the bolts should be centered on the outer 2x4's:

That looks like an awesome project! Of course it's always nice to have a dual purpose for items when hiking. Makes me wonder why I never thought of an UQ/recliner hybrid! Great job!
I saw in your first post about the recliner that you used some high fill count duck down. If you don't mind me asking, where did you order it from? I've just recently started some DIY projects (and like you said, it's a bug that's hard to shake), but up till now I've only worked with synthetics. I'd like to get my feet wet on a down project, but I'd prefer not spend an arm and leg until I get a little more comfortable working with it, so I'm looking to buy some cheap (but usable). Thanks for the blueprints (and I'm sure the wife will thank you too that I'm going and buying more fabric to take up space!)

How bout the r3 details? I want to build one of these and am ready to pull the trigger on all the supplies from Dutch. Just don't want to do it until I see the details of r3 so I know exactly what to purchase.

I completed the R-III back in August 2013 and did the "trailer video" but, never got around to documenting the project, looks like it's time to put those loose notes and sketches into a PDF, please give me till the weekend and I'll post a new R-III DIY thread

After 16 trips (50+ comfortable nights) in this hammock, the R-III is definitely the final "Recliner" design IMO. I think a 1.6 Argon version, decked out in Dutch Bling would be an awesome v2.0 though!!
