Thanks for sharing - the memories from cub scout family camp outs are special ones.
I know this is an old thread but glad I found it. Going to Camp Boxwell next week and was worried if I could use my hammock or not.
Looks like we will have a good time.
Welcome
This was in the off season for Boxwell and the platform tents are not set up. I believe that when Boxwell is in full swing you have to use the platform tents but I would ask the Camp Director for which ever camp you are staying at ( Camp Stahlman or Camp Craig ).
Here is the Campsite Inspection Form for Boxwell : CampsiteInspection.pdf
I hope that helps and have fun at Boxwell
Thanks for the info.
The cub scouts have to stay in the platform tents. But I was under the impression that the parents/leaders stayed in their own tents. Not sure what campground we will be in. Either way looks like a great place. My boys are excited to get up there.
My son was at Stahlman last week. They kept their gear in the platform tents but his entire patrol set up their hammocks and slept in them each night. I'm not sure about any official policy, but the site commissioner (the staff member assigned to the specific site for the troop) had no problem with it at all.
