I used google to hop back in the WayBack machine to dig up a pointer to this old post on a frame stand for a bridge hammock. In the house for a semi-permanent arrangement I would use more substantial single 2x4 lengths on the floor. I would probably run a length from end to end up high on one side for good measure.

What about a vertical hang like the ones from this thread? I ask cuz I don't know anything about bridges, this might be a terrible idea.

That'd work Red, just that the OP asked for a non-damaging way to hang.
The overhead spreader "ridgepole" can work for any hammock, but you still need to screw something into the ceiling.
Edit: I s'pose it could be on a stand...
I see you making making a Lord Nelson hammock in the near future..
