    i have blisters

    on my fingers from trying to splice zing it.. i tried 22g wire and it snags and a carpet needle and the eye is too wide..
    please help.

    I have felt your pain. I use copper wire from CAT 5 cables doubled over which acts as the eye.

    +1 to this. Still though, zing it is not fun to splice. But those loops and shackles are too darn handy.

    I have used thin floral wire with good results. What size zing-it are you using?

    I used a big needle (don't know what it's called) for yarn, but not the biggest. Opened the weave up a little with some coated floral wire that I cut the coating off of.

    It took forever, but it got the job done.

    When using wire don't just fold the end over. Fold the wire completely in half so that the two ends of the wire never go into your zing it. That way there is nothing to snag.

    Exactly. That is the easiest way I have found to splice.

    What everyone else has said. I was lucky and had some 1.5 mm aluminum wire around that I used. Worked great. Good luck and be patient.
