Actually, I am part Swedish in there, too. Those borders were quite movable and disputable for many years, as you know. My mother's ancestors lived near the Norway/Sweden border and married back in forth through the surrounding towns, so am I Swede or Norge? Hmmm?

My parents just went and visited the places where my great grandparents and grandparents came from (my parents were both born here in the states.) in Finland - I'll have to get the names of the places they went. I'd love to go and visit there sometime - I have some friends in Norway, as well.

It's a common Norwegian saying, (at least for Swedes).
    Would translate to something like:
A guy on the trail, is never unhappy.

Not so funny, but it's the way Norwegian say it , you know singing it almost.

    That's really cool.

I think it's still like that, if you live by the border.
I mean the closer you are to it , the lesser you care about it.

HAH! That was pretty close to what I translated. It was something like "traveling, stomach never sour." I just didn't get the context right.

My ancestors on one side were from Christiana (Oslo), Mo I Rana, and Drammen. The other side were from Rauma and Kaustinen.

I have a friend in Nessoden.

Weighed this morning at the Post Office: 30.8 oz. with line/strap setup. Only 2.5 oz. over the double 1.1 black if set up with line/strap, about the same as double 1.1 with webbing setup.

Oh yeah, thanks for the glow pull tip as well, moski! I got my glow pulls last night (20 of them!,) putting them on all my hammocks this week.

I'll bring any spares/leftovers with me to Mt. Rogers!

OK, I hope to have pictures of this up soon (I just have to attach the vent,) but since I am at work waiting for some things to happen, I thought I'd draw up some diagrams of the sock, and of the new vent panel I designed.

so this is completely waterproof top and bottom except for the vent? did you consider sil? is this going to replace a tarp?

it'll be interesting to see how it handles condensation.

    let's see the pics

V2.0 will most likely be sil. I had planned on it replacing the tarp, but I'm not so sure now. I wanted a waterproof cover for extreme wet conditions, and to regulate heat. This thing stores a lot of heat.

I'm curious on how it handles condensation with the new vent - it was pretty wet inside in 23* weather without the vent, as you can well imagine. I may need to add 1 more vent, but I'm hoping the chimney effect with my skylight and the wing vents will be enough.

Should be done sewing... er, thread injecting...tonight, if the wife doesn't find more curtains for me to hem!
