Two half hitches to the ridgeline ring on one end of the tarp,
Around the tree,
back to the ring,
through the ring,
tie a Tautline Hitch on the line back to the tree.
Same thing on both ends. Each to tighten/loosen and to center the tarp over the hammock. Works really well for me.
My guylines are more complex, but use a similar principal:
Braided Mason's Line, tie a Bowline to the D-ring,
to the stake (I use MSR Groundhogs),
then tie a Tautline Hitch to tighten her up.
I have self-tensioning guylines on the Edge, but still use the same knots, I just pull the shockcord tight when I'm adjusting my tautline hitch.

Harelit: Brandon covers setting up the Tarp without hardware very well. ( in the video above) I also learned from him how to store guyline so it won't tangle.
I pitch my Superfly exactly the way Brandon recommends in that video... Works perfectly for me.

Here's how I've got my rigged up as of now. I used to use the dutch bling, but I just use knots on my ridgeline now and like it a lot.

I love the lineloc 3's. I know you have to use something a little larger than zing-it for it to hold really well but I don't mind. I use the nite-ize reflective cord...you can get 50' on amazon for like $8. Works perfect in the linelocs. I added 1/2" grosgrain loops to all my linelocs so I can just add them to any tarp using a larkshead style...just wrap it around the tie out and back through itself. At the ridgeline ends I tie a bowline in the cord and larkshead it to the split ring. Then I wrap the free end around the tree and come back through a lineloc that I also have on the split ring. Centers easily and hold super tight.
Just picked up some braided mason line, going to try out the clove hitch method of shock cord tie outs. Only problem is, the line is hot pink. Anyone know if you can use Rit fabric dye on nylon? It seems in theory that it would work, but you never know.

Brandon (and others):
When you say you don't recommend a tarp ridgeline, why is that? I've been using a continuous ridgeline over the top of my Cloudburst since I got it. Will doing that somehow harm the tarp?
