Your thoughts on my next purchase

I am going to get a new hennessy backpacker (I get a deal on HH so no war bonnet)

So far I have decided on the following
#Side zip UL backpacker (just the hammock)
    #Cat cape rainfly
    #Super shelter
    #Over cover #1

I own a classic UL BP now, and want the side zip.

Mainly want your opinion on the Cat cape rainfly, how well does it work as a poncho, does it make a good pack cover (covering just the pack) and is there any reason I to or not to get the larger model for the regular length hammock
I figure it would be nice to have the ability to use it for me or the pack or both, at night I use a pee bottle (gatoraid bottles work great for this) so I wont need to worry about rain at night

weight is a deciding factor here for the most part, I'm no gram weeny but I do care about weight, I read that the hyperlite stretches more than the UL backpacker causing the sleepers but to sag deeper into the hammock, I'm a side sleeper and try to sleep kinda on my side in a hammock so I figure this would be a problem with the hyperlite.

I choose the supershelter due to the lack of weight over an UQ, and I think it may pack smaller, I also can't get a deal on UQ's.

    Please give my your opinion.

You should just send your original backpacker to the 2qzq people and have the sew u in a zipper.

+1 on the 2QZQ zipper mod. I just had it done to my hyperlite and DJ XL. It is in the return mail to me right now. I can't wait to get it.
If you are intent on getting another hammock, I would suggest the Hyperlite or the DJ. The material they are made of is awesome and so very comfy.

I just ordered the Cat Cape from the odds and ends sale, but don't have it yet. I will let you know when I get it, if you are still interested.

I considerd this but I don't want the seam on the under side of the hammock and due to my discount I can get the new one for the same price I would sell my classic.

The zipper mod adds a min of 3.5 oz. due to added zipper materal used to close the bottom and HH claims the same weight for classic and side zip models, I try to do everything to avoid adding weight.

I like my SS. It is simple to put on, fit my hammock perfectly and has never let me down. That said it is a bit heavier than either of my UQ's and does not pack up as small if you are putting it in your pack. I always strapped it to the bottom of my pack.

I considered the catcape, but decided to not go that route. If it is already raining when you start to set up you will be unprotected for the time it takes to set up. I opted to use my poncho to help close off the head end of the hammock like a griz beak. No it is not a perfect fit with the stock tarp, but it is an improvement.

Ok I made up my mind, I did not want to do the zipper mod on my classic because I didn't want the seam in the bottom for a few reasons, I didn't want to feel it on my thigh, I know that will not stretch the same as the bottom of the hammock and I sleep like sh!t if anything is bugging me while I'm trying to sleep, I may have them do a mod on the zipper model to make it better.
