FP might be a great place to paddle. People could put in at the ramp on the Navasota River near the primitive sites, float down to the lake, then back up to the primitive campsites or across the lake to the other campsites.

We've been to Fort Parker in Mexia -- I do like that they have kayak ad canoe rentals, and you can put in at the boat ramp and either paddle up the Neches river, or downstream to the lake. I do recall that we only found a few sites with trees spaced right for our hammocks, though. I still think Tyler would be a better Plan B if we were coming more west from Caddo. I do know that Lake Bob Sandlin has lots of trees at their sites.

No reason, but a secondary issue for many is the degraded paddling opportunity at Caddo right now. As I understand it, you can't even get in the water.

This is giving me a headache.

Tim says Atlanta SP is wonderful, but he is unsure as to whether there are enough sites suitable for hanging. Anybody close enough to run over there and recon?

OG, Now i can see how your being "pilot in command" experience comes into play, with the "world ending in a few days", you stay on point in using your extensive administrative skills to "get the hang done" and taking on the roll of an administrative assistant for Tim, I know we all appreciate your efforts in finding a park to hang in, presuming world is still here. I'm leaving for the mulberry where its peaceful, see you there, hope your headache gets better.
