Any thoughts on HH and Whoopie All-In-Ones?

I'm at home today getting ready for the MAHHA hang tomorrow. I received a set of All-In-One Whoopies some time ago and haven't installed them yet, mainly because I only have the stock HH tarp - which is said can't be attached to the suspension.

I'd like to gather some intel from folks who use Hennessy Hammocks with the All-In-One suspension and how they hang the stock tarp. I've been meaning to acquire a bigger tarp, but $$ has been very tight- my wife is very ill and the bills have us living on necessities. So I'm looking for a way to make what I have work, and I know that many of you have some really creative solutions.

Photos are especially appreciated, so I can see what it is that you guys do. And if you're going to the MAHHA hang, please do stop by and say hello!

I would add a self tensioning mitten hook prussiced to the whoopies. You could remove the hook off your stock suspension and then add it to your new, just lay everything out and mirror the attachment points. I would add a bit of shock cord or silicone tubing just to make it hang tighter but it isn't necessarily an absolute.

If you need shock cord PM me an address, I'll send you some.

You know, that's exactly what I would be doing, except for numerous postings by hangers and even Stu himself specifies that the tarp should not attach to the suspension. In the installation video he removes the mitten hooks and states that they will not be used on an All-In-One. Perhaps I should ask over in his forum why this is.

Thank you for the shock cord offer - that's awesome. I managed to pick up a good bit of it at a fabric store closing locally, and a bunch of other stuff too. My best deal was a rotary cutter, normally $49 for just $2!

I have found that Prusik knots have difficulty "grabbing" the slippery Amsteel. I removed the hooks and added a couple of micro Figure 9s and cordage to my tarp, works great.

Weird it's the same exact thing as the Hennessy just without the knots

I converted one of my kid's Expeditions to whoopies and was stuck with the same dilemma. Instead of a prussic, use a klemheist knot. It's a more directional version and seems at least for me to hold better on the slippery poly cord. I use these to hold the tarp to my zing-it ridgeline too. You'll want some cord smaller than the whoopies and preferably something with kind of a rough finish. This will help it bite and hold better.

This works, but you do get the "sag" associated with attaching the fly to your hammock suspension. A loop of shock cord on each end of the fly definitely helps. Unfortunately I found that because of the dimensions of the tarp and hammock, I don't have much room to play with between the two suspensions. It has to be a really short loop or the tarp must be attached really high above the hammock.

A separate ridgeline is really the way to go.....
