Best method to ridgeline a hex tarp?

Any suggestions or info that I can find on the most effective method to run a ridgeline for a hex tarp? I have found some info on running above the tarp and under the tarp but was wondering which is the most secure and effective method? I also noticed HH video showning to attach the ridgeline onto the inside of the rings and then another tie out to the tree from the outside of the tarp ring... this seems a little odd as it should be a complete 1 piece line through?

You can do a single line over or under or use 2 separate lines off each end. Not a real big difference either way. A single line can be a little more stable in heavier winds or if you expect a snow load on the tarp. Under being more stable than over in those situations. 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other though really.

    HH Hex trp

I have the HH Hex. I just use the tie outs provided as original equipment from the plastic D rings to the tree on each side. No ridgeline under the tarp itself. If you feel more comfortable with a full ridgeline, just set up the line from tree to tree, spread the tarp over it, attach from the D rings to the line with prussics. That will make it easier to shift the tarp from side to side to get the correct position

I would not run a ridgeline under the tarp at is a a great conduit for water to run down and drip right on you.
