Last night was the first night in my new Hennessy Expedition A-Sym. It was my second night in a hammock. The first night, a few weeks ago, was a complete failure. (Braided rope hammock and not enough thermal protection)
So last night, I was at a local state park with my new Hennessy. With the help of this forum, I knew to find trees approx 12-15 feet apart and to secure the straps approx 6 feet high. I aimed for a 30 degree angle but I'm not sure if I got that right.
The nighttime temp was 48 degrees and I stayed warm using a CCF pad and my 20 degree sleeping bag as a quilt. The only cold I felt was when my shoulder was off the pad. That area of the hammock was so cold that I first thought it was wet.
I found it was difficult to lie at an angle. I know this hammock is asymmetrical in shape and I have to wonder if I was attempting to angle myself incorrectly. I was never uncomfortable and while my legs and head were slightly higher than my butt, it wasn't by much.
Based on my pics, can you determine any changes I need to make? (Angle, etc?)
