Loosen up your suspension a bit.
My husband is from Kerrville.
Hey grrl, even if you didn't achieve a perfect hang on your second attempt, you are making good progress. At least it wasn't a horrible experience like last time. Keep at it, it took me a few different attempts when I first started. Good job!
Have you got it dialed in now? Sometimes I just can't seem to get comfortable in my HH, but I go to sleep and wake up in the sweet spot and am so comfortable I don't want to move!
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
Hey there Texas. I'll second the other folks on here about hanging the foot higher than the head. I am still working on perfecting my hang but practice makes perfect. I use a Big Agnes with a inflatable pad in its sleeve. I also sleep with a fleece blanket. It works great to shove into a cold spot when I get one. I plan on getting a Thinlite pad for under my sleeping pad and provide more coverage. Just keep practicing and you will get there. It's all part of a learning curve.
"Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline.
i agree that you'll get it. i had the same trouble in my own hh but kept hangin it in the garage until it became automatic.
i like the Exped Multimat inside a hammock, its way wider than other closed cell pads but thin - there's no falling off or struggle staying on. and i can double it up to make it warmer below 50F and it'll still cover the area under my whole torso. $45 at REI. works great in the HHSS too.
I can't really tell by looking at your pics. But it looks fairly level, and like others said, experiment with the foot being higher. It was easier with the bottom entry models, only one way to get it correct: lay down with your head to the left of center and feet to the right. Plus this always puts the head end tie outs near your left shoulder, rt side pull outs near your right knee/leg or foot.
But with a zip model, either end can be the head end. So just make sure when you lay down that the pull outs nearest your head are also near your left arm.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
