    I actually considered the fire brick option and taking them when I go car-camping (group hangs, basically), but my concern is that they'd make embers and burn a hole in some poor, unfortunate soul's hammock.

    I considered weaving them into a mat (really, that was a thought), but I don't think it'd be sturdy enough to support somebody moving around all night.

    C'est la vie, it was a thought.
