Ok so im lookign to do the top down full zion narrows trail and im going to do an over nighter for fun. Does anyone have experience with this trail in terms of hammock hanging. I know the end will be in the slot canyon and obviously that will be unusable but up in the north fork area? Anyhting?

Send them an e mail and ask. National parks seem to be inconsistent on that. Rock Mountain said yes, Yellowstone said yes, Yosomite yes, Kings Canyon & Sequoia yes.
    Capital Reef NO.
If they say yes to your e-mail, print it out and take it with you.

Never had an issue with mine. What areas are you planning on hiking? When you are here, check out Desert Rat in St George for some of the best local knowledge of Zion and surrounding areas, Bo Beck that works there probably has more time in the canyon than anyone.

This sounds pretty awesome...I haven't been to Zion yet.

But made it through to Bryce Canyon...which is a place I plan on revisiting and hammocking. Amazing country

I would love to spend a few nights in Zion, I did a motorcycle run through there last year, but we were doping an Iron butt, ~900 miles in -24.5 hours. We went through so fast on our our way to the North Rim that I could not tell you what it looks like. All I remember is a tunnel, and some cool looking rock walls.

    So Sad.

Re: Can you hang in Zion National park

A couple of years ago a group of us went in to the NW backcountry part of the park. Three of us were hanging. We didn't ask and nobody showed up to tell us to go to ground. I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon if not outright banned in the regular car camping campgrounds.

This is an old thread but I was searching for that answer myself a few months ago before I headed there a few weeks ago. Yes you can hammock camp there. Our first two nights we stayed outside the park and they allowed it no problem. However, we saw several hammocks in the park campground as we drove by the visitor center. We did the two day top-down hike in The Narrows and stayed in Campsite #5 and had a few hammocks set up there. We asked the 800 # call center guys and they had no idea and said there were no trees in the canyon. He obviously has no knowledge of that hike. Lots of trees. We asked the park ranger the night before at the desk and she said no problem but I doubt the trees are big enough. She was wrong as well. It was perfect. Lots of trees 6+ inches in diameter. There are 12 campsites in The Narrows so I can't promise all 12 can accommodate hammocks as I did not look at each of them. But most of them I would say could have 1-4 hammocks. Anyway, just my input as I was looking for this answer as well. Thanks everyone.
