    Hello from SouthEast Alaska

Hope I'm doing this posting correct. This is the first forum I've posted on before.

Just started as a member today. I have been wanting to hammock camp for awhile now. I just recently got a WBBB and am really excited to start using it and wanted to get as much info and experience from here as possible.

I live in southeast Alaska and get out camping at least once a month. Tired of sleeping on the wet rainforest floor on uneven ground with root systems, rocks and other debris reminding me I'm not getting any younger. Glad to be here and learn. Thanks for having me.

Hello from Oklahoma! What part of Alaska are you from? My mother-in-law is over in Kenai. Spent a week camping on the Kenai lake last summer and am in the works of planning a trip with some friends who haven't ever been there. We spent our entire trip in our hammocks. It rained 80% of the time but we stayed high and dry though we did get some looks from fellow "campers" where we were at. I don't know if it was the hammocks or the idea of not being in a tent or rv that peaked their curiosity. You won't regret your choice to leave the ground. This is a fantastic place to learn about the wonderful world of hammocks. Enjoy and welcome to the trees!
"Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline.

I live in Ketchikan. Rains a bit more down here than the Kenai Peninsula. I think we average about 150 inches a year.
I'm sure the looks were because of the hammocks. I don't recall ever having seen one hanging in my area.

I worked for Princess Cruises for a few years and was in Ketchikan every week for 3 summers. I used to hike there every chance I had. I love your town!
