First DIY: My Triangle Underquilt Suspension Thingies

For my first DIY project I decided to make some Triangle Thingies to attache my underquilt to my HH Explorer. I got all the materials at JoAnn Fabrics at the last minute, save for a piece of 3/4" webbing that I got at Academy. I used 1.1oz Rip Stop Nylon although they don't have it labeled as such at JoAnn's.

In case Geometry isn't your thing (it wasn't mine), cut a piece of fabric 13" wide by 11.27" tall. Measure 6.5" in from the edge at the top to find the top point of your triangle. Cut from that point to the bottom corners to get a 13" equilateral triangle. I roll hemmed the edges and then used 3" pieces of 3/4" webbing to attach the two rings and swivel clip to the corners.

    Triangle Pics

Here are the triangle thingies attached to my hammock and the underquilt attached. I just have the shock cord tied off as I try to get the correct length. Any advice on adjusting the shock cord would be appreciated. I got cold during the sleep test... there is a pocket of air right between my shoulder blades. I need the quilt up tighter against the hammock.

Those look awesome! I've been just putting the UQ end loops over the top of the ridgeline with a carabiner but these look perfect. Less chance of ripping the bug net too.

Those should work out just great. I should be hanging my DIY underquilt from a old sleeping bag tonight. I may need these to help support the weight of the bag. Thanks for the pic's.
