Greetings from Ontario!
A longtime backcountry camper, I have been hanging for a little over a year now and my back and the rest of these tired joints are most thankful. I started out with a Hennessy hammock and was quite pleased, but have taken the plunge and have just bought a whole bunch of new gear, including a Warbonnet Blackbird and an UQ from Hammock Gear.
These forums are fantastic! I have learned and am learning so much -- not only about the ins-and-outs of a proper hang, but about a much lighter approach. Most of my time in the outdoors is spent paddling, but I am beginning to dabble in backpacking -- at least as much as my wonky knee will allow. If anything, adopting some backpacking principles will make for an easier time on the portages!
