    hennessy?

hi fairly new to hanging. and i have an ENO dn and i love it! but i keep looking at this hennessy at a local shop. just wondering about the whole velcro thing... i like the idea of having the bugnet built in! and they are fairly decent priced. but the velcro on the bottom of the hammock? really? 1st how does that work? and 2nd, its velcro, wont it get messed up while putting the hammock up and taking it down? like wont dirt and leaves get on it?

Try the zip version, I think there are still some of the sale units left, I'd call & check with Hennesy. Slept in my HH Explorer UL last night, sip model and quite comfortable.

I see you're also looking for an underquilt or pad. If that Deep Jungle is still on the sale list, it will solve that problem for you. It has a reflectix pad that is inserted in a pocket in the hammock which will also accept a pad. You'll eventually want and underquilt, but this will get you hanging in all but the coldest scenarios.

The velcro on the bottom works fine. I've had both the zip and bottom entry and I did prefer the zip model, but the bottom entry functions as it's supposed to.

If you haven't had a chance to lay in many hammocks, I'd try to do that before you spend the money. HH are great hammocks, but there are other options that are very nice as well. If you haven't tried a WBBB or WL or BIAS, you would never know what you were missing

The only complaint I heard about the Velcro came from my son. He said it can be a bit uncomfortable when sleeping. He suggested laying a blanket down in the hammock and laying on top of the blanket.

Once you get in your body weight helps close the velcro tight. The system works, but for me (and it's just my oppinion) there are more comfortable options. HH has a great all in one set up, so it's great for those that are just starting out.
