Excellent job Jazilla. Now you've got me thinking maybe I should do this to mine. It looks like you sewed one side to the binding where the net attaches and one side to the net. Did you sew first then cut? Do you need to do anything to keep the net from ravelling?

    Cool project.

I am really close to ordering a zipper to completly remove my bugnet. I'm close, just not there yet. Mainly because school is getting in the way.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

I don't think it would be hard but finding the right zipper length might be a little difficult.
Some one said to use a zipper foot when installing zippers. What is a zipper foot?

See the linked site. Basically a zipper foot is a narrower presser foot like a single ski that holds the material down. The foot is what you raise and lower to the material. A zipper foot allows you to sew closer to the edge of the zipper.

What is your application for the zipper?

I have a gear bag similar to yours and hang it so its accessible from the entry slit. I also have a 3' long gear loft I made with 6 sections to it that hold my water bottle, glasses, headlamp, keys, wallet, and reading material. I was curious how you use your zipper and gear bag. What do you need to retrieve from the gear bag once you're in the HH? I know everyone has their own "system" so was wondering if I can improve mine from your experience. Thanks.

I would really like a picture of your gear loft.
I guess its just preference plus experimentation. But mainly I installed it as an escape hatch for when the ground dweller come to stop us from taking over.

Really Weaver I just have a tendency to leave things in my pack and I just made the mod and haven't slept out to see how I will use it.

    Jazilla,

What length/type of zipper did you use for this mod?
