Calendar Subscriptions

You know what would be great? Some sort of calendar where we could see whats happening and where. Anything like that here? Any plans?

Can one get an iCal and subscribe to the calendar?

There is a Calendar already on the site. It depends on people to enter their events into it but I've seen plenty of group hangs on there from our region. You should see the button on the "toolbar", across from the Home button.

Or were you looking for notifications of some sort?

how about a real hammock forums calendar? members submit group hang photos for each month. vote on the covers. i believe snapfish offers these very cheap.. mod? also back to the original idea. i agree one master calendar of events would be fantastic.

I'm sure if someone wanted to put together an unofficial google calendar of events the mods wouldn't have any problem with that. But There is already a calendar on the site. I feel that it is under utilized, perhaps if they could change it to an embedded google calendar that any member could add events to it would be more widely used.

Yes. I want to integrate it into my life. You can actually do this on meet-up. But I was hopping to have it here.

I'm able to transfer hangs I'm interested in over to my personal calendar, it's just getting everyone to post the hang on the calendar here to begin with.

Now, as for an actual calendar to order....that would be great! I'd prefer more of a calendar that shows different set-ups in different beautiful places. That would be very pleasant to look at.

....to take it a step further, considering the time of year, it would also be nice to have those who participate to donate the proceeds to a charitable cause in hammockforums gratitude.

I think so. I wonder if there is a plugin that could tie the forum calendar in with a google calendar? I know it's best of you don't have to change what people already know. It would be nice to see a little more use of the calendar maybe.
