Question Heavyweight or durable "bug netting"

Anyone know of a bug net or mesh (see-thru) material that is tougher than what we currently use for our projects?

I have a thought (woah!! ) and would be using this more because you can see through it than bug protection. It will be for a 7 year old.

    Thanks in advance.

The NoSeeUm from D.I.Y Gear Supply and others is pretty tough stuff. I stretches a good bit before breaking.

Don't know just how tough you need, but if you're looking for something beyond NoSeeUm, you might check out "Animal-Gaurd" door/window screening. (no, I'm not implying anything about your 7-yr.old ) But if you're looking for something to physically prevent him from falling out of the hammock, this might be the ticket.

I've seen it at Wal-Mart & Lowe's, and it's a charcoal colored screen that's about 3-times stronger than regular window screening. I actually considered trying it, but didn't need the whole amount that comes on a roll, and wasn't sure how flexible it would be in terms of cramming it into a stuff sack. Anyone have experience with this stuff...?

    Thanks LB!

I guess it would be more helpful if I shared more info. My daughter is ok in the hammock if she can see. The side wall effect that takes place makes her uneasy if we aren't standing right there with her.

My idea is to make a three panel type hammock (essentially a ENO style) with the two side panels being mesh. That way she can still have the open air feeling and will hopefully be able to relax like you're supposed to in a hammock.

I don't think this will work for me as I'm huge and I think the weight would cause an issue with the seam, but with her being small I think it might work.

    Thoughts?

I don't know if any of these would work...http://www.questoutfitters.com/mesh_...s.htm#POLYMESH

You might give quest a call and see what they think.

Don't make a mess on that new hammock.

Glad the link helped. It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw your post. Good luck and show us some pics when it's done.
