I've stayed in the car camping area and made the short hike to one of the primitive areas but would love to see what the rest looks like.

I camped in the Buzzard's Roost primitive area a few years back. It's a nice site with lots of trees. Here's the downside: even though it's a two mile or so hike in, it's really close to the highway that fronts the park. As a result, your backcountry experience is kind of ruined by the sound of cars cruising down the highway at 60 mph. I have hiked by the Moss Lake and Walnut Springs sites and really liked them.

As your attorney, I greatly appreciate this advice. I was planning on hiking into the Buzzard's Roost for an overnighter. Perhaps, I will take a left at the giant hump and cruise on out to Walnut Springs.

Maybe we could get together and give this place a shot. Raoul, I'm still set on hiking Lost Maples. I just wish it would cool down and stay that way for a while. 80 degrees in November is ridiculous

Climb at Erock all the time and have hammock camped the car side. I have seen the primitives around back and they look good. Easiest way for me to the backside spots is half way up the main dome and cut down through Echo Canyon. I just find it the prettiest spot to go. Make sure you have a reservation. Scouts can suck up every last spot in a blink of the eye.
