About 14-16" of snow fell on Roan Mountain during the weather event that followed Hurricane Sandy. So it made for the first winter play ground of the season! One of my long time paddling buddies Steve and I set out early and even with a long break for lunch at the Roan High Knob Shelter, (elevation 5,826') we were back at the car by 2:30. It was a great day and I ended it of course with a long late afternoon nap in my hammock with my new Warbonnet Multicam Hammock Sock on it.
