If I'm not mistaken, the Walmart in Moncks Corner has dry ice, but it's about an hour drive. Not sure if anyplace closer carries dry ice...

My experience with dry ice is pretty good, need good cooler, Coleman Extreme Series and limit access in and out. Everything in the whole darn cooler will freeze with dry ice being -109*. I used dry ice on a three week 4X4 trip in Utah during July. Dry ice would last 4-5 days in cooler even at 100*+ outside. Used one cooler as freezer and had ice cream in the middle of the Moab Desert 50+ miles from no where...

Thanks I figured if any place in that area had it would be Moncks Corner. Just need a back up plan.

Great you answered a few more questions that I had. I do have a Coleman Extreme 5, its a 70 size. I had to go to the shed to check it out. I figure I wont get there until about Saturday 1PM so has long as it lasts the night we should be OK. Unless anyone eats IC for breakfast now.

It also helps to pre chill the ice chest before you put the cold stuff in it.

Yes I plan on keeping the cooler with the IC in the hardening room at work (about -20) a few days before hand. Then Friday put the dry ice in, transport the cooler to my house, then the next day take it to the hang.

    Thanks

this is getting better and better (not to mention closer!) so come on guys, grab your friends, spare gear and cash for the raffle!

    a word on the raffle:

    $5 = 1 ticket
    $20 = 5 tickets
    $50 = 13 tickets
    $100 = 25 tickets!!!
(applies to all tickets bought at once, so if you want to purchase a large $ of tickets over time to get mixed numbers, no extras )

one more thing, we WILL be doing games for tickets so we can have some fun AND get some extras without having to spend anything, so Saturday when I call yall together, BE READY!!!
