My guess is that Goobie was poking fun at the spelling of the name. FWIW, the Chequamegon covers quite a bit of real estate. Perhaps the name of a town nearby our initial starting point might be in order?

In that same vein, not sure I will consider attending if Snipen is "defiantly" attending. On the other hand, figure I will try to make it if he is "definately" attending. ;P

There's a section of it that runs along State Highway 70 W about 20 miles west of Minocqua (Highway 51 N.). Closest towns to it would be the Lac du Flambeau Rez or Park Falls further west.

I am leaning towards the Porcupine Lake Wilderness area. The NCST runs through there as well.
