Dang-it Left my tree straps hangin in the trees.

So I just got home from a short overnighter. I'm retired so my weekends starts on Monday and ends on Thursdays.
Got my shower and pictures loaded up on flicker to start a trip report when it just dawns on me.

((( Shoot ))) I left my tree straps hanging in the trees. Dang-it!
I really need to find a way to attach my whoopies to the tree strap/toggle.

On a normal hang I probably would not have forgot them but I was testing all my winter gear (sans winter weather)
just to make sure everything was there and I remembered how it all went together.

Lots of extra parts in winter camping, lots to forget, or leave behind.......





Decided to haul it all in by bike since Mustardman and Cannibal tease me when I use my pulk with no snow.

I sew the adjustable end of my whoopies into the sewn loop on the tree straps. My straps have a loop sewn at both ends.
The fixed end of the whoopies stay on my hammock.

If I need to shorten up my suspension, I can still put a Marlin spike in the strap right next to the tree and hang the whoopie on it. I simply have a loop of strap dangling. I'll try to add a picture when I get home.

ive done the strap trick myself.i wished i was double jointed so i could kick my own butt.that is one killer tarp.

What about a larks head onto the tree huggers? Does that degrade the tree strap or the whoopie??

it degrades adjustability. the two parts is why im not a whoopie guy i would forget them every trip.

I've been known to use just about every inch of a pair of 6' tree straps. The dang Cottonwoods can be huge or I can't find 2 trees even close to 15' apart.
I haven't researched any Dutchware or any of the other vendors maybe I can find something that will clip to the whoopies loop (not just hook) and attach to the tree strap. If you guys(and gals) know of anything please post up a link.

Oh if anyone wants more info on the tarp. It was designed and built right here on HF. I believe the thread was called Grizz Beak to the Nth Degree.
