    Attached Stuff Sack?

I am making a few hammocks as Christmas gifts for family. I just placed an order for 5 tablecloths and matching color "Taffeta Crinkle Sashes." My thought was to use the sashes to make matching color attached stuff sacks for each of the hammocks. I want them to have attached stuff sacks. I want the stuff sacks to function to hold small items while the hammock is in use and store the hammock and suspension for transport.

The sashes are 6" wide. I will make the bags a full 6" wide and as long as needed to make the hammock and suspension fit inside.

How would you attach the stuff sacks to the hammock body? Close up pictures of hammocks (commercial or DIY) with attached stuff sacks would also be helpful.

Unfortunately the 6" wide material might be kinda small for a stuff sack unless you make it at least 20" or 21" long.

For a 126x60 tablecloth hammock + whoopies + straps I would normally start out with an 18x18 or 20x20 size piece of fabric and fold it in half. That would finish somewhere around 8x16 or 9x18 when flattened out.

Maybe consider sewing 2 widths together or making an attached bag and a stuff sack?

The typical method is a "Bishop bag", where the suspension runs through a hole in to bottom of the sack. This allows for easy deployment of the hammock, but doesn't meet your requirement for dual-use.

You might just make it separate, and add hooks so it can be hung from a ridge line. That way it can be positioned where they like and can reach from in the hammock.

Sounds like I may not get as much value as I hoped from the $4.50. It was an impulse purchase as I was checking out. I was envisioning the ENOs and their tiny stuff sacks as I hit add to cart.

I'll have to wait until I get it and see what I can do with it from there.

I think 6" is too narrow for a bag. I make mine different ways, but my usual method is to take a 9" x 25" piece, hem two 1/2 inch channels on each 9" side, fold it so that those two channels line up and sew up the two long sides to the bottom of the channel. There's a little more to it than that, but that's the general idea. Three inches narrower than that? Methinks it would be too snug. I like the "stitch two pieces of 6" together" idea, but your bag will have a lot of seams.
