Quick cheap temporary suspension system question

I just got my hammock in today (Trek lightgear double) and mistakenly thought that it came with tree straps. My dad has some 1" webbing that he's going to send me for some straps but that will take a few days to arrive. Does anybody have some cheap alternatives that I can use for a temporary suspension setup. It doesn't have to be very light just cheap and durable. I have seen webbing at Lowes that was pretty cheap but I'm not sure if it will work.

Would Nylon ratchet straps work? I know that nylon stretches but it will still hold a lot of weight right? I don't plan to use these long and Don't plan to go camping with my hammock til I have some proper straps.

Mule tape, if you can get some, is used a lot. When I lost one of my straps half-way on a week-long trip, I was lucky that one of my hiking buddies carried a roll of mule tape. Saved my bacon.

I've also made straps from cheap strap from Walmart. I can't even remember the name of it, but I think it was polypropylene based.

If you have nylon, use that until the "good" stuff shows up.

The new Atlas Straps from ENO are great, as are the Kammok Python Straps in terms of ease of use with the Trek Light hammock. Just fit the S-hook into any of the loops along the webbing.

Thank you for the quick response. I'll take a look at Walmart and see what I can find. I'll also keep an eye out for some mule tape.

The 1" webbing from ratchet straps is frequently used. You may find it in polyester.

A few people use harbor freight tie down straps they are like 5 dollars....just break the metal buckl with a hammer and you have per sewn loops

I have one hammock setup with repurposed ratchet straps. I used a hack saw to cut the s-hook of the end and sewed a loop in the other.
