Hey thanks! I was eyeballin' these at REI the other day but they seemed frivolous at the cost. For $4.99, I'm all in! (I can see all kinds of uses for these)

Be careful. I use that as my keyring and the latch easily gets pushed to the side (I guess by the other stuff in your pocket). I've lost keys more than once. Fortunately I've heard them drop on the pavement and pick them up. My house key popped off yesterday as I was locking the door.

And it doesn't take much pressure to bend the daylights out of them.

i found that over time if you use these with anything that has much stress they will eventually spread on you.....i used them to hang my UQ and woke up one night cold and found my UQ on the ground because of this

i have moved onto the metal version and have had no problems and on the metal version the tip of the "s" where it meets the gate is quite a bit smoother so it doesn't catch on your cordage like the plastic version.....just a few observations i have found

On the plastic s biners I took my leathermans pliers and squished the tip of the s so they dont catch on everything.

How much do they weigh? I've replaced all my biners with soft shackles. They weigh 4 grams and breaking point is around 1000 pounds. In fact, there is a pair for free in the PIF section :-D

Yeah I can see that happening. These things dont look like they are rated for any kind of weight over a few pounds. I think they would be good for things like the ridge-line; when you want to hang things from it.

I also stopped using the plastic version because of their tendency to snag while trying to remove them. I find the metal versions MUCH easier to remove.

got one on each of my whoopies, instead of a bead. doubles as a hanger too!

Like the idea of using these in the loop of the whoopies. I have several of these smaller sized (stainless steel version) and a few of the next couple of sizes up. The smaller ones tend to have the latch actually spring open on me. Going to transition to some Dutch hardware for hanging my underquilt instead of using them.
