Well, I was #190 on the Black Friday sale. I got my shipping notice yesterday.
I spoke with Adam a bit today. He said that they had a great business plan in effect; however, Murphy showed up. Some of their key people, including a seamstress have left over the last month (due to personal issues, not involving the shop). The time & effort involved in the extra work have really contributed to the slow down. They can't even hire and train new employees while so busy. He apologised profusely. I can totally understand his frustration. With that being said, remember to have a little patience with them & your order. I would rather have a few extra weeks wait, than "hurry up" & have less quality. Remember, we're talking hand made in the USA and not some overseas factory.
Another newsworthy note. when Adam ordered the Cuben Fiber, he thought that it would be product that he could continue to buy. He was told this last week by the factory that this was not the case. It was a one time deal, as the roll was in fact what was left from another project that they had. He said that the fabric was much darker than what they had anticipated, so that was a real plus. On the other hand, there wasn't even enough to make me a Winter Palace out of it. He only had enough fabric to make a couple of them. I will get some photos up in the next week (I should have it in hand by next Wednesday). Adam regretted to inform us that his photos turned out bad and with the shop trouble, he doesn't have the time to get new ones out.
So to end on a positive note, save up your dough. The factory is sending him several new patterns and colors. They even mentioned possibly producing a product with a leaf pattern. I'm holding off on my Winter Palace for a couple of months for the new fabric!
