I just finished my DIY tablecloth hammock about a week ago. Went with the sage and have to say it is a very nice color. I might just go and order one of each color and call it my skittle hammock armada, lay in the rainbow.

I know this post is a couple of months old, i have not tried the tablecloth thing yet. but i have used rip stop nylon with am-steel. a word of caution from a fellow HEAVY hanger (350). long term use of small diameter am-steel will "cut" through ripstop. ask me how i know. So i just made a larks head out of the rope that came with my daughters beyr traveler light hammock. Yesterday she and some friends totaling about 500 lbs. were swinging in my hammock. so i feel safe today. going to buy a 90x156 crinkle teffeta table cloth now, thanks everyone for the info.

I'm very interested in this method. Thinking of making one for myself and another for my wife. However I'm a little concerned about how small I can pack it down. For her it won't be an issue but for me I want to be able to backpack with it.

I'm not a weight-queen ... I can lift an extra pound ... but still have to wonder about getting enough stuff into a medium sized backpack. Especially since as a bigger guy I'm thinking about doing a doubled-up cloth. I'd like to keep the packed-down size to around an 8" x 5" bag.

    Doable?"

Thanks I decided to take the plunge about an hour ago. Got 4 cloths (making 2 doubled bags, one for me, one for my wife). If you got a single to compact that well then I have no worries about carrying around a double.

I also noticed they have crinkle taffeta sashes in (mostly) matching colors. 6" x 108". So I ordered a couple of matching sashes to make stow bags and possibly a small ridge sling.

Good news. I ordered Friday and went ahead and paid for 3 business day shipping (yeah, I know, takes some of the savings out of the project but we're going camping this weekend).

They sent the shipping notice on Friday night and the cloths are scheduled for UPS delivery today.

Mostly posting since some folks had mentioned issues awhile back regarding time it took for processing their orders. Looks like tableclothsfactory has gotten better (or I got lucky).

I have been tweaking my diy tablecloth and there seems to be a lot of side material. I rewhipped it twice using the fan method and it still has sagging material. I also get this wall of fabric right in my face. I'm thinking of maybe trimming up the sides a bit.

Has anyone run into this with their tablecloth?
