    Ok I teach 'em all that as back up. Fortunately the grinding stone on the dremel did a nice job of roughing up the finish. Now they lock tight. In fact they hold just a single cord of amsteel as well.

    200#...I wouldn't be comfortable with that, even when doubled. Generally want to keep suspension components over 1,000# and some would argue that's even too low.

    Well on the rings... Was that 200# working load, or 200# breaking strength... They are two entirely different things..

    The SMC descender rings are rated at 14 kilonewtons, which is over 3000# and only cost $3.10. Certainly overkill but rather safe than sorry.
