Thanks HamMike. I think that I am going to have to make a matching TQ with M50 now!

LOL you and me both HamMike If I could lighten up my tummy I could lighten up my pack.

Hey Raiff. What do you think a double layer M50 hammock would weight and how much do you think it could hold. And with a no see-um net oohh aaahhh I am drooling all ready
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Hey LRR, just as a guess, I would say a double layer M50 hammock with the suspension and RL made with Dynaglide would come in somewhere between 7-9 oz. If I get around to it, I can take the suspension off of my hammock, remove the RL, and weigh it. Then I could give a more accurate guess. I think that a DL M50 could hold 225-250 lbs. But that is a guess. There is no proof of that yet that I know of. There are some other HF members that have been experimenting with M50 hammocks and maybe one of them has a DL and can better answer your question.

Thanks Red. I appreciate it. There is a nice nature trail about a block from my house that goes back a mile or so to a nice set of waterfalls. I often take my dogs for walks on the trail.

That is impressive. Interested to see how it holds up. I'm right at that 200# mark, so the curiosity. Great work.

Thanks Les Rust. You are not the only one who is interested in how well it holds up...and none more than me!

That settles it, next pay check I'm ordering me a few yards to whip up my own M50 hammock. Think I'll be the heaviest person thus far to test one at 200+ lbs.

Better get some cushions for under me.

    Wow Raiffnuke!
I cant believe i missed this thread until now.

    Fantastic job on the hammock.
Are you using 1/16 shock cord and 'tiny' cord locks?
if not, I think you might save another gram or 2.
but who's counting grams now !!!!
