WOW!!!!!!!!! Cant believe I'm just now spotting this thread.

Be proud Raif, that is spectacular. Very professionally done. I'd buy one of yours too!
Maybe when tis all said and done m50 will be the greatest of the fabrics....but we've all seen how they come and go (i.e. spinnUL). But for now you get to enjoy the beauty and weight of a finely crafted flying machine.
Your pics, they weren't taken near Greylock??? I think I recognized a rock
    So tell what is next????????

Thanks MM, I appreciate your comments.
No, it is close to Grelylock. I took the pictures on the Cascade Trail in North Adams. The water is Notch Brook.
I am not sure what my next large project for myself is...I am working on some items for other HF members at the moment.

Mighty fine looking light and gossamer hammock.
Interested to see what the long-range outcome of a single layer will be through your testing.

WOW ... that's impressive to say the least! Nicely done. Look forward to seeing how well it performs for you long run.

Does a hammock make a noise if it falls in the night and no one else is around to hear it?

Looks great! I think you and Neutron have proved it can be done. I would keep an eye on the area where the suspension line is wrapped around the hammock. Other than an accidental tear I think that would be the potential fail point.

    Thanks for pushing the limits

Thank you very much Shug. I too am interested in the long term viability of keeping myself suspended from such a light hammock.

Thanks Hawk-eye! I appreciate it. I will try to keep people up to date with either the success of failure of this hammock.

Thank you for the advise. I will be keeping a close eye on the various parts of the hammock body, looking for wear, stretching, tears, or any other signs of failure. All the credit for the idea of the M50 hammocks, in all of there forms, rests with Neutron. He started it, I am just moving forward with testing the limits of an M50 hammock.

I ordered 5 yds of the grey M50. The 4 yds that you have will be plenty to make a hammock.

Just came across this thread. Great looking setup. I've been looking at making an M50 hammock.

Any additional report on durability yet?
