When I made my first DIY hammock, I stumbled onto this video on YouTube that seemed like a great way to attach the suspension. It's simple, works with either rope or webbing, and seems to me to be a more positive connection than a whipped end that could be prone to slipping. I do mine with a whoopie sling, so I use a small loop on the end instead of the big loop & dbl. lines as shown. Also, I use a Hennesy-style of fold rather than an accordian gather. I'm not sure if it's got an official name or not, but I think it should. Wish I had a good pic of it on my own hammocks . . . hafta take one.

If it's already been discussed here, I apologize for draggin it out again, but I haven't seen it mentioned or used in DIY setups here. My first hammock worked great with it, so I used it on my second as well. Regardless, I absolutely love this setup!
