I will be recovering from Thanksgiving Dinner gluttony and practicing Black Friday traffic avoidance. Therefore, this will be an overnight camping trip [23 Nov 2012(weather permitting)] to this primitive camping area along the Palmetto Trail in the Francis Marion National Forest. This will be a good time to try out all your gear and test your skills at camp cooking. Also, you will be close to your car, so it’s not much of a commitment for any newbies. I will make sure that we have a fire and water will be available per the website below:

Directions: To reach Halfway Creek Campground from Charleston, take U.S. Highway 17 north to SteedCreek Road (SC Route 133S). Turn left and drive 5 miles to Halfway Creek Road (SC Route 98S). Turn left and go a half-mile to the camp on the left.
Parking: Campers driving to the campsite should park off the access road, as to not block traffic. Only a short walk with your gear and supplies is required.
