    Gorges State Park

Great place to hang a hammock... tall trees everywhere, lots of water access. Never needed more than a liter at any one time. Fun 18 mile weekend trip getting pelted with falling leaves. Great backwoods camping trip, and finally WARM and cozy in my hammock. I think I'm getting the hang of this thing.

very nice trip report. I live about 30 mins from that park. I was wondering, did u guys walk in nine miles and then turn around. Or did yall have two cars at seperate locations and do a full 18 miles to the "other car".

Parked off frozen creek road. Walked in on cane break, west on foothills, then spent the night on foothills. Next morning back east on foothills a half mile, to auger hole to frozen creek road parking lot. So it was more a loop with a little tail...

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

This was a great trip report and beautiful pictures.
I was on the FHT this same weekend, just a little west of where you were.
It was a great weekend to be out there.
    Thanks for sharing.
