I had a superb view of downtown Pittsburgh one weekend a few years back. I was out hitch hiking home after a backpack trip down in Va. Me and my dog. Ended up off route a little just as it was getting dark. I got let off from a ride, walked over a bridge and down river a 1/4 mile. Climbed halfway up a big hill over looking the 3 rivers, swinging in my hammock. Clear, cool, fall night. I didn't even pitch the tarp. I didn't want to mess up my view. I wasn't worried about anybody scrambling up that steep incline.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

There is a nice spot about a mile from my house that I have done stealth camping a few times. Lots of people walking their dogs and riding bike though, so I've almost been spotted. So far so good though! Don't do it often as I don't want it to become a lazy habit to not get out to the real woods!

Very interesting idea. I will need to keep my eyes open for the possibility... Lots of farm lands around here with small pockets of woods in between. Of course there is always the angry farmer to worry about...

I've driven through that area on my way to some other parks. It looks like a nice place to hang...but not exactly "urban" . Even though they say it is owned by the City of Atlanta, it is up in North close to the Chattahoochee National forest.

I was in Winnipeg on business last week, the whole province is one of the most beautiful in Canada, lots of wilderness, cool placs to hang. Cold winters, get those underquilts out.

Ever hang during the winter in MB?
