Haha! I'll have to check out his other hardware as I begin to figure out what my setup is going to be.

Don't worry, you'll end up on the ground eventually. We all do

Does your pic indicate that you're a reef enthusiast?

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Yep! That's one of my rainbow acan frags. I'm presently tankless, but a good friend of mine has been holding this coral for me for a while. It started with these three heads, but now has probably 50. This pic was about 2.5 or 3 years ago when I first got it.

That is a beautiful waterfall. Congrats on your first hang even if it wasn't over nite. There is nothing wrong with taking small steps to that first perfect night in the hammock.
Can't wait for your next trip report.

Thanks, O&B! I'm anxious to sleep in it, but I'm not about to freeze to do so. Haha! I was really comfy in the tent, actually (blue walmart pad, plus as Nemo Astro Insulated pad... it was nice), but I'm sure a hammock will be even more comfy... and not weigh nearly as much as our 7.5 lb tent... ha!

Yes this is probably not the best time of year to start hammock hanging unless you buy or make a complete kit to stay warm.
I would not sell the tent you don't want to limit yourself . Sometimes trees are not available. Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep the tent for when I go with my wife... she will probably want me on the ground with her, which is still comfy with the Nemo Astro.

Plus, its an REI Half-dome 2 I got for $25 at an REI yard sale... definitely worth keeping it for that!

I'll be going back for a 2-day trip to do just that, Kindle in hand.
