We planned on staying at Ethan pond all weekend but ended up cutting it a day short. We thought we'd be the only crazy people out there this weekend in the negative temps friday night and snow, sleet, rain saturday night. But when we got to ethan pond there were already 5 other people there in the shelter.
We hung around Friday night where it got to be -5f with wind chills easily in the -20s. We all made it through the night but decided to pack out saturday so all of us weren't trying to cram into the shelter for dinner and evening activities to stay to dry.
After hiking out I decided to go down the street to another trailhead and hike Mt Jackson.
It was a great weekend overall. I got a new low temp in the hammock, knocked off a few more miles of the AT, and bagged another NH 48 (#19 for me).
