SOLD: Blackbird double layer 1.1 Hammock and 3 season Hammock Gear CrowsNest UQ

    BOTH ITEMS SOLD

Warbonnet Blackbird Hammock - $140 (SOLD)
Double layer 1.1oz (olive) great condition, used but I don't think you could tell (clean, no smells, no damage). This has the standard ridge line. I did one modification which was adding small pieces of velcro in 2 places which hold the head end of the double layers together (I got tired of the inside layer laying on my face.) This isn't mine, but it looks like this.
    Includes:

    • (2) 12' long 1" wide DIY tree straps (toggles not provided)
    • Standard Blackbird storage bag with openings on both ends
    • Suspension - (2) 56" max length DIY whoopie slings made from 1/8" diameter Amsteel (it holds solidly)

    3/4 length down underquilt - $120 (SOLD)
3 season Hammockgear Crowsnest (now called the Phoenix) in very good condition (never been wet, it's clean, no smells, no damage). It's designed to work with the Blackbird hammock and really is perfect for 3 season camping. Weight with stuff bag = 18oz. Stored uncompressed in a king sized pillow case. The outside layer is about the same color as the hammock. Standard fill, looks like an average of 2.5" - 3" loft. I believe 850 fill power. I've slept comfortably in the low 30's. Length 52", and width at center 45". I will ship this mostly compressed, but not as tightly as in the stuff sack.

    Includes:

    • Stuff sack
    • 2 very light weight biners

Shipping cost each is $10 in the CONUS. If you buy both it's still $10. Payment via paypal.

Reason for sale. I'm a DIY guy and have made a hammock and underquilt. Time to pass these beauties on to someone else to enjoy.

    What was original suspension

What was the original suspension and what happened to it?

Is the velco machine or hand stitched or held by some adhesive.

What do you mean by inside layer in your face? I can't picture this. Do you mean the inner sleeve comes up the side and that would fall back in your face when sleeping on your side?

    Suspension

The original suspension was a line/strap. I don't remember what happened to it. I found the whoopie sling easier to use and lighter.

The velcro is machine sewn into the hammock, but I believe there was a layer of adhesive on it. Since there are 2 layers, the inner layer isn't attached to the zipper like the outside layer. The 2 pieces of velcro hold the inner layer to the outside layer.
