Good luck. Appreciate your efforts here to figure this out.
If you get the GPS cords for the sites, please post as well. I have been looking through my GPS topo software already learning as much as I can about this area.

I had the same problem with the software. I think one of the better free places to get topo maps online is http://www.mytopo.com/maps/index.cfm...=finland%2C+MN They want you to purchase a map by selecting your custom topo maps. You can capture a screen save to get a free lower res version. I usually just use the topo software for my Garmin GPS. I can help create a map for the group if you like.

My, er, boss, ah-hem... is from MN, and knows where Finland is... and although he thinks I am nuts, he will schedule things so I can have the time off.

You still on for sharing a ride, TZ?

Were gonna have us a road trip. North bound and down, loaded up and truckin

How about you get here Tuesday afternoon / night, we travel Wed, and meet up with Stairguy Wed night, Take him and his wife to dinner, then to the woods Thursday.

If we need to, we can head out Sunday for home, or get a night indoors, if it is OK with our host.

dang, I'm originally from Duluth and my family is also from Finland (country). Sure wish I could get up there, but won't have all my gear ready by then.

Oh and if i did make it and smell Lutefisk I would be puking on whoever brought it. Hmm wonder if the wife will get me all my gear for xmas. hehe
When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".
